Alright, so the deal is that I bought a 765T which came with lifetime maps 2 years ago. Being the nincompoop that I am - misplaced it… Garmin of course refused to compensate (It’s my own fault anyway). Instead of spending another $50 for maps I decided to return it (yes, lifetime return policy from costco!) and get my $250 back to get a newer unit and yes, I’m actually MAKING money from this deal :) (about $40).

This is the unit I purchased and is probably the best unit Garmin makes (with regards to being on the road).

tumblrbot asked: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE INANIMATE OBJECT?
I’d have to say my car. There are millions of favorites, so lets just go with car.
My father just shared some info with me about a new external hard drive. Yeah typical 500gb… but what’s so special about this one? Well a few things, or just one critical, built in Ad-Hoc network support. Check it out….

I’m not a fan of Seagate products but this looks super promising.
Only after about 30 minutes of trying. It lives agaiiiiinnnn.
4.2.1 Jailbreak FTW
Wednesday morning I will be boarding a plane heading west to Dallas to see one of my favorite bands: Fleet Foxes.
This is exciting to me for two reasons: A) I get to see FF live when they won’t be around this neck of the woods until Fall at least and B) it will be my first plane trip in at least…
Part of me wishes I could get on a plane and not come back. My life here is okay but I really want to travel. I’ve seen enough out there to know there is more to life than drinking beers at a bar and eating fried food.
One day…
My huge goal in life is to experience -as-much-as-possible.
Yeah, what he said.
man, I was on 4.1 iOS for about 9 months then started getting errors so I wiped my phone and jailbroke 4.3.1 - bad idea. I’ve had nothing but problems ever since. Perhaps it’s just sn0wbreeze.
Well now, I can’t even boot my phone.
fantastic.
Demand Progress:
We knew it was coming: Members of Congress and their business allies were gearing up to pass a revised Internet Blacklist Bill — which more than 325,000 Demand Progress members helped block last winter — but we never expected it to be this atrocious. Last year’s bill has been renamed the “PROTECT IP” Act and it is far worse than its predecessor.
Senators Leahy and Hatch pretended to weigh free speech concerns as they revised the bill. Instead, the new legislation would institute a China-like censorship regime in the United States, whereby the Department of Justice could force search engines, browsers, and service providers to block users’ access to websites, and scrub the American Internet clean of any trace of their existence.

oh boy, 16gb of RAM. I’d say this RAM is the BEST bang for your buck for DDR3:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231440
received the 16gb (4) sticks of 4gb and installed all 4 in my only 4 slots.
1. I booted the computer (no problems) and logged in to windows (BLUE SCREEN).
2. I shut it off then turned it back on and booted to my memtest86+ memory test disc
3. Tested all (4) chips and got 7k+ error so I figured bad stick, so I turned it off and removed the one in DIMM_1 and turned it on
4. Logged into windows and played in the OS a little and (FROZE) so I rebooted
5. I booted into the bios and disabled the option that said XMP (extreme memory profile - automatically OC’s the RAM) and saved/exited
6. I then booted into the memtest disk with (2) chips and ran memtest (NO ERRORS)
7. I swapped those out with the other set and rebooted with the other (2) chips {in different slots too} to the disk to run the test (NO ERRORS) [thinking maybe the XMP]
8. I installed all (4) chips AGAIN and booted to memtest disc to test them once more (NO ERRORS)
9. I then booted into the OS and ran prime95 for 17hrs (NO ERRORS)
It seems the XMP was reading the wrong timing from the RAM (RAM is stated to run at 7-7-7-21 but XMP tuned it to 6-7-7-21) so I feel I should leave it disabled but the only problem with turning off XMP is that the CPU is not overclocked anymore… so I’ll have to figure more out about manual overclocking I guess.
P.S: I called g.skill and the rep claimed that buying 2 sets of dual channel as I did (and not the “quad channel” ) COULD pose problems as when quad channel RAM is created they contain matching components and also “manufactured” for all 4 to match… [shrugs]
